The 33rd National Games of India, also known as Assam 2007, were held in Guwahati, Assam, from 9 February to 18 February 2007. The event was inaugurated by Sonia Gandhi, President of the Indian National Congress, at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh presiding over the closing ceremony
